Sky Terrace: 2019 – The Year Ahead

14. Dezember 2018

Sky Terrace – An astrological-analytical look at the stars, planetary movements, seasonal phenomena, and the world at large, by Uli Mai

2019 is an assertive year of a lot of action

2018, Venus was leading the personal planets – it was a year pretty focused on relationships and values of all kind. 2019, Mars leads for the first 8 months, starting on New Year’s with Mars entering Aries, his home sign. You will most definitly hit the ground running in 2019. Watch around January 6/7, the combination of Uranus direct and a Solar eclipse spells something big, and unexpected. Also, there a THREE instead of two Aries Moons in 2019, bringing even more speed and daring. Mid-February, a meeting of Mars and Uranus could bring explosions, in the literal and figurative sense, but also a lot of spontaneous energy.
January and February also stand out as ALL planets are direct – this speeds up things, yet again. Use that time to advance projects. In March, it looks like we could have emotional hiccups that force us to reevaluate what we’re doing – being too selfish and ruthless may not serve you well on a personal level. April however is very pushy this year, and feisty. And the summer of 2019 is likely going to be unforgettable, especially around summer solstice, with Mars/Mercury opposing Pluto, and the beginning of the summer’s eclipse season – especially an Eclipse conjunct Pluto on July 16. The whole first half of the year looks pretty explosive, actually. There’s quite a serious backdrop to 2019…
It looks like a lot of curtains will come down next year – people will feel consequences. Saturn and Pluto meet in Capricorn, sign of responsibility, lasting structures, natural resources, government and big business. Brexit, and the effects of unbridled neoliberal laissez-faire capitalism since the early 80s (the last Saturn/Pluto conjunction!!) will all play out in a way that won’t be necessarily a pretty sight. This is exacerbated by the fact that in the first half of the year, the karmic South Node will meet Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, pointing to encrusted and corrupt power structures that civil society will be hard put to do away with.
Adding to that, revolutionary Uranus is due to re-enter Taurus and stay for 7 years. Uranus in Taurus brings huge changes in how we treat our body, our relationship to nature, food and agriculture, beauty ideals, and finances, currencies, and money. Taurus is an earth sign, so we can expect long-lasting and thorough change in these fields. Agriculture and currencies/values may be in for a big shakeup, especially combined with what’s happening in Capricorn. Mid-May may see big surprises and potentially sudden losses (or spikes) in markets, currencies, and values. Uranus also may bring revolution to those who usually prefer to sit things out…
To counterbalance things, we have a huge emphasis on legal matters, and the rule of law, with Jupiter in Sagittarius. There’s definitely a battle of giants in the works, as many of the biggest planets are in their home signs. Saturn and Neptune in harmonious aspect for much of the year show the possibility to make dreams come true. Jupiter and Neptune in conflict show a big clash of belief systems, and the higher mind against deep emotions, intuitions, and delusions. Expect fashion and movies to boom, and a perhaps unprecedented battle for the truth amidst vertex of lies, trickery, “fake news”, disinformation, propaganda, and falsifications, as well as superstition and fanaticism!
For you personally, 2019 will likely be at least as challenging as 2018, but with the opportunity to achieve more, and to stay more focused on projects. However, we will all start to be more and more affected by things that go on politically, socially, and economically. We only have one earth – 2019 will deepen certain divides but will also show that united, we are stronger! Happy New Year.
