GRAND HYATT TOKYO INTRODUCES GOLDEN BURGERS

In celebration of the new imperial era „Reiwa“ which will start in May and the long Golden Week in Japan this year, The Oak Door steakhouse has started to serve from 1 April a dynamic Golden Giant Burger that measures 25 cm in diameter, 15 cm in height and weighs a total of 3 kg (6.6 lbs)

Reservations for this Burger must be made at least three days in advance!

As a lifestyle destination hotel consistently offering innovative products and services, Grand Hyatt Tokyo introduced April 1st a dynamic Golden Giant Burger that weighs a total of 3 kg (6.6 lbs) at The Oak Door steakhouse to celebrate the new Imperial era, “Reiwa”, and the long Golden Week. The regular-size version of the burger (last image), the Golden “R” Burger (R as in the new era Reiwa), is available since April 5th. Both golden burgers feature a juicy beef patty topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, Wagyu beef slices, foie gras, and freshly shaved black truffles sandwiched between two gold-dusted buns, the perfect choice to celebrate this exciting time of the year.

Patrick Shimada, Chef de Cuisine of The Oak Door, said, “As a fourth- generation Japanese, I am honoured to witness this exciting time of change in the Imperial era while working in Japan. While I was thinking how I could contribute to this once-in-a-life-time opportunity, I came up with this idea of the Golden Giant Burger. In celebration of this special occasion in Japan, we considered using gold as a traditional ingredient to present this burger for the enjoyment of our dearest guests.”

The juicy 1 kg beef patty is topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, Wagyu beef slices, foie gras and freshly shaved black truffles and is sandwiched between two gold-dusted buns. Priced at JPY 100,000, the sizeable burger is perfect to share amongst a group of six to eight people and costs JPY 100,000, which includes triple-cooked giant fried potatoes and a magnum- sized bottle of Champagne, red or white wine. From April, indulge in this Instagrammable burger that is fun to share in a big group. Reservations for this item must be made at least three days in advance!

The regular-size Golden “R” Burger (R as in the new era Reiwa), available from 5 April, features the same ingredients as the Golden Giant Burger, while using Madera Sauce and goat cheese to offer an enhanced scent of truffles and a good balance of sourness.
